Roland Christen (founder) is the only person who makes the lenses. He final figures each lens to a minimum .98 Strehl using a very high quality Laser Interferometer and the quality of the optics are second to none. No optic ships from Astro-Physics that isn't as good as humans can make which is exponentially better than a machine can do believe it or not. The coatings on the old ones were state of the art but the new ones are even better. When you look at the new front element you cannot see any glass. It looks like there is no lens in the cell but there is. That translates to near zero reflectivity and 99.x% transmission. In the three elements they loose less than .06% transmission. It's about .02% reflectivity per element. High demand + low supply = long lines to get one and used pieces going for many times what they cost new. They are made about 8 miles down the road from me. I found their site and did some reading and i agree with all you have mentioned . It's just i didn't know the waiting time list was that far back
