My MK2N just out of work two days ago. Send to CSC get replaced. According the them, the new shutter already replaced and c/w 3 month warranty. After took back test, my camera works well, but there is a question, I checked the shutter count, the count shows shutter still follow the old counting. Ring Canon service team, they said that they already reset the counter to zero since the new shutter already start working. I have told them I test it still shows the old number, but they confirm they use their own software the check it is reseted. Is there anyone face this problem before? or maybe my test is incorrect? I have used different test software test the same result.

Thanks!

They didn't reset my MKII when I had the shutter replaced. Didn't matter to me...

Same. New shutter, same count. Maybe they reset the number only they can read with their software so the know if a shutter has been replaced. For the rest of us, there are more items than just the shutter affected by the number of clicks. If you replace the engine in your car, you do not reset the odometer to zero...

Thanks, now feel better, I am not sure they have changed it or just repair the old one. :)

You might want to keep note of the current count. If/when you decide to sell the camera, giving an accurate shutter count as well as the overall body click count could help the sale.
