Well, I have been happily waiting for my 85 1.8, and I just got it! Yahoo - right?
Then, I open the box and look at the lens - it has a little fleck on the front element and on the second element. Okay - I work to get the front element clean, and I finally do - I have no idea what was on it though...
The second element is of course out of reach. I called to return it, and then I thought I would ask everyone here what you thought.
Is a little fleck on the interior elements a terrible thing? I tested it and it shows up barely at F22... doubt I will ever use the Fstop with this lens (primarily for indoor sports.. vball, bball, etc)
Should I return it? Is it normal to have stuff show up?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Lee

If it is brand new, I would return it. It hurts the re-sale value when you have to disclose an inner element flaw that is visible at some f-stop.
