Does any body know how much does it cost for Canon to calibrate this camera? and how much does it cost for cleaning alone? Last question is do I need to ship the original box with the camera or just the camera is fine? Thanks.

If you send in a lens/body combo for calibration, they usually will just do the calibration work unless you specifically ask for a cleaning. Name is Peter and here is my gear:

Sometimes Canon just asks for the lens, other times they ask for both. As far as cleaning, it depends on how badly your sensor accumulates dust. You have a 40D with a self-cleaning sensor, so your need to send it in would be far less than a body like my 5D. Even with the fact that the 5D doesn't have a self-cleaning sensor, I just use a rocket blower/sensor pen to clear off most dust. If it gets really gunked up, I use the Copper Hill method to wet clean my sensor. Name is Peter and here is my gear:
