Portland Head Lighthouse.......C&C please!

theghost- thnx for posting....someone actually resurrected the 'best of' lighthouses and saw one of them, excellant work.

I like #1 just because of the lighting on the roof... Both are great pictures.

I like number 1. The lighting and surf add drama

I went to the lighthosue today, but got there mid morning. Sun high in the sky and no surf. I was planning on returning in the afternoon after enjoying lunch at Grittys in Freeport and a stop at Beans, but light changed. Clouds began to roll in, lots of flat light. So, heading back another day.

I love both pictures. When I first saw the thread title, I thought it referred to Portland Head in England!

You got great colors and the water in the first one, i really like it. Im guessing this was a sunset shot?

I prefer the composition in the 1st but find the bright areas on the lighthouse distracting.

I really like them both, but the first one is just fabulous! I love the drama of the movement at the bottom, the dramatic sky, and the end of day lighting on the lighthouse. Wow. I wish there was something like that near me!
