Good action there mate. What gear/settings?

The lines from the hill pointing in the last image I like. How many did the Poles bring with them? They're up our neck of the woods next year and i'd say they'll swamp Belfast again

Cheers mate. Was using a Nikon D80 with 80-200 f2.8. The camera is poor for high iso noise and fps but I managed to get away with it, thanks to the quality of the lighting inside the stadium. ISO was set to 800 and shutter speed 1/400. 61,000 there altogether of which i'd say 45,000 were Poles. It was like a home game for them! They created a great atmosphere all the same.

I'd have been tempted to go for ISO 1600 and double my shutter speed.

Anyway, good stuff, but some could do with a tighter crop and some attention to your 'verticals'. Nice to see some Irish action. :)

Cheers for the input. I didnt want to up the iso as the noise would have been terrible, and I wanted to use the 1/400 shutterspeed to freeze most of the movement but retain some motion blur on the ball and fast moving players. By "verticals" do you mean the lopsided horizon lines? I can see a couple of shots that slipped through.

Yeah, that's exactly what I meant. It seems to be 'de rigeur' for motor sports (probably because the sport is so darn BORING  ) but CAN be a distraction to ball sports. Good stuff.
