Wow, I think I just got a great deal...

Going through Live.com, I just bought a brand new 135L (my 3rd ) from Digital Rev.

The Buy It Now price was $929, I had a 10% off eBay coupon which brought it down to $836, and I also get $200 back from Live.com, so I got a brand new 135L for $636. How could I say no to that?

Funny thing though, I got my $200 back instantly. Within minutes I got an email from PayPal saying I had a $200 payment from Live.com. But when I bought my 40D through Live.com a couple weeks ago, I have to wait 60 day to redeem. I wonder why the difference?

Anyway, I'm pretty excited about getting such an awesome lens for such a great price. I just hope it arrives OK!

Is digital rev an authorized canon dealer? Seems like they are from HK?
I dont know if i should risk buying a whole camera from there. Seems like shipping a camera to HK for warranty could be a PITA.

Their an International reseller from Hong Kong. I bought a new one from Norman Camera [Authorized US Canon dealer]for $735 with free shippping [Used live.com]

Really, I hadn't heard about it before so I was pretty surprised when I got mine back instantly. Not sure how they decide whether or not you get it back instantly or in 60 days.

It's like buying gray market stuff through B&H. It has an international warranty, if I need warranty work I would have to send it back through them. Digital Rev seems to be a pretty well respected vendor here and they have good feedback. Failure rate on the 135L is pretty low, so I'm not too worried. Hopefully it works out!

I wonder if your warrantly will be valid and are you going to have to pay any duties?

Yeah I've never heard of any 135's "failing" haha...

I am so tempted to buy the 50D w/ grip from them. But im worried i'm going to run into a hassle if something happens to the camera

It is 200 per item. There is also a max on number of transactions, but I cant remember how many at the moment.

12 is the current limit.

Because of the rebates I picked up a 5D, 35L, 135L, and 17-40L this week, hopefully everything arrives at the same time..

I got a great deal today also, a fellow POTN member agreed to sell me his Canon 70-200mm f/4 IS USM shipped in the original box, with all of the original items for a very good price.

He was then kind enough to list it on Ebay so that I could use my 10% coupon and 25% cash back through livesearch.com ~ how sweet is that?
