If I were to calibrate my lenses on my buddy's 50D, would that render them useless on my 40D? Are the lenses only calibrated for the 50D?
This is all hypothetical, its not like I have a buddy, or anything.

Nov 22, 2008 00:07 | #3 So, if I own a 40d and 30d, and borrowed his 50d to calibrate my lenses, would that make them better on my stuff, or only on his 50d? Lets say no one owns the same lenses in this scenario, as for the last part you said. We already talked about that Deb

We already talked about that I just want my lenses better ( if need be ) on my bodies.Nothing changes in the lens itself. It's the relationship of the lens/body that is adjustable. The mount itself moves by fractions of a millimeter... Jay

Nov 22, 2008 00:20 | #5 OK. So I am going to "borrow" a 50D tomorrow and get all my lenses right. I have a hunch I have a 50D coming for Christmas, but I CANNOT. I am already overwhelmed. But I don't mind borrowing one to get my lenses right, if they are wrong. That will help me be less frustrated, and know the reason I hate all my photos is ME and not my lenses. THANK YOU <3 Deb

If I could meet up with yall, even with a wonderfully mellow and bright and cool 3 year old, that would mean the world. I need some friends. I WANT to be good at this. But I am currently fighting my conscious about time with her/ time persuing this. She loves being out and about, like I do....discovering the end of the dirt road that is not entirely mapped...panning for gold in Tombstone bright orange late day light...and mapping treasures from the Garmin in the early morning...but I have no friends so its really hard. If yall head down here, I would love to be a part of it. I really, really would. I would be honored, and I mean that a ton <3I've looked at your Zen and your little girl is adorable... Jay

You should send a PM to Kristy Snyder and get together for some quality child shooting time. She's one of the best and could teach you a thing or three... ![]() OMG you want me to actually talk to a person? Deb

Nov 22, 2008 01:04 | #12 Hey, you know what? Thanks <3 FlyingPhotog wrote in post #6736887 Don't be... We're all pretty much in the same boat. All trying to improve by trying new things and seeing what works and what doesn't. Some have found their niche and are off and running while others are still kind of searching for what fits. For most of us, it's far more about the process than the final results. The fun part is, little by little, improvements happen almost without being obvious. You get back after shooting and say to yourself "Hey, these look pretty darn good..." Then, of course, you try something way outside your comfort zone and realize that your're pretty much back to square one. And so it goes... ![]() Deb

Thanks for this. <3 I feel pretty OK right about now, you having given me this... No problemo... Jay
