I started in 35MM, like most folks and loved my 19-35mm. I next went to 645, to 6x7, to 4x5, to a 40d crop. Each step of the way, I seemed to gradually go less and less wide. I think I retrained myself into thinking that 17mm on a crop was wide enough. I know the math and conversion; it just ended up this way.

Yesterday I picked up a like-new 5d and 17-40 for a deal I could not pass up ($1k). Trying out the 5d with the 17mm was amazing (again). I love the POV, DOF and perspective.

I can't wait to get out and remind myself of how much I loved WA before.

I always want C&C on my shots.

Wow, that's truly an amazing deal, and I've personally gotten some very good deals myself :)

Your post makes me more eager to get that Tokina 12-24mm f/4 for my 40D lol

5D WITH the 17-40L for $1000? Where can I find a similar deal?

You either got a free lens or a free body.

Yeah, I have a spare $1000 just waiting on that deal. I lust after the 5D, and I lust after the 17-40L.

Wow, that is an insane deal!!! I really like WA shots for atmosphere shots of football fields at game time, especially high school games that are rivalries. You can often get a good sense of this side and that, from a very unique perspective.
