This one's not a rumour anymore; it's been out for a while...

... the pre-production models have been going around the dealers for the last month or so.

I got to play with one mid-October ... but wasn't allowed to take any images from it away as it they didn't want the abilities of the camera to be judged on pre-production firmware.

How come Canon's still doling out pre-production camera at this stage?

I would think Canon would have the release model in production by now and pulled the pre-prod models out of circulation.

It can be amazing inside... It's in the rain I care about judging on the poor weather sealing on the last 5D.

So... where's the pix and the video samples? :) I'll put them in the wiki

Hopefully, the production units are gonna roll out in the US this week - it is up on the shelves in China already

In China, whew, that means they're actually gonna do it! I kinda had the idea that with the economy such as it is world wide and Cannon's profit down 26% last quarter, they might rethink putting out this product.

Adorama finally has the 5D MKII listed for sale. but the price must wrong on the kit model. Th kit with EF24-105L lens and body is listed at 2669.95. I wonder if they would honor that price.

That means Adorama is expecting their first shipment this week, probably by Wednesday or Thursday.

I saw your post and jumped onto the Adorama site just to see.
What I saw was that price for the first gen 5D with the 24-105 lens, not the MKII.

If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.

Just ordered the body. Did it Sept. 18th. Adorama rep said I was like the
1st preorder they had. Also said there were 1000 orders placed after mine.
I was so excited I didn't think to ask how many bodies and kits they had
received in this first shipment. I'm sorry I didn't order the kit. Forgot my
mid (so to speak) range zoom is one of those Aps(c) (whatever) specific
lenses and won't work on the full frame. Asked the rep about changing
my order. He said, "Don't mess with it at this point." Good luck!
PS..I say call Adorama and ask. They've always shared readily any info
they had.
