The original was pretty good. I've seen it a few times on TV. I don't think I've ever seen the original, not-cut-up-for-network-TV version of it, though. I should put it in my Netflix queue.

I liked it. The new one was horrible but it could be because since I was a child, I used to watch the original almost yearly on NY eve....

I preferred the original, and did see it on the big screen. Mad magazine did a hilarious spoof on it. The Poopsy Down. :p
I used to have a schwack of old Mad magazines from the early 70's, and the got chucked out when I left home.

I used to have lots of Mad and Cracked magazines. My favorite though was CARtoons (external link).

nothing phases my cats. Nothing. We picked out a tree this year specifically for them. One that was extremely solid so that when (not if) they all three are in it, they won't knock it over. Last year Pacha was at the top, Calypso (just a lil kitten in the upper middle and Murky in the middle...the tree almost bend 90 degrees). That's why we went for a real one this year

I think they look forward to the tree more than my kids ever did.

Do you put decorations on the tree... lights, ornaments, etc. ?
edit: your post answered my question. Amazing they don't create a tangled mess...

oh lol! now Pacha is in the middle of the tree, trying to fall asleep. He did a face plant into the branches and must have poked his eye because he started spitting and yowling...and then he moved to the top again. Honestly this is cracking me up.

yeah...usually a few days after we put the tree up. They lose interest. I'll put the lights on tomorrow and then give them a day or so before I put the decorations out.
