I am struggling in the birds section....so many good entries in there..

There are some seriously talented photogs there. I've just started birding a little but am no where near some of those guys. Here is a little hummer I took this fall.

Where's my fish or maybe the dragon will let me borrow a ruler.

Silly boy. What makes you think you get a fish? OR a ruler? *chuckles indulgently*

Of course you should. That doesn't affect your ability to judge a visually pleasing photo. It's just a technique to learn.

That was well said. Not enough for a fish or ruler, but well said :)

A friend did ours. He actually did quite a good job. We offered him some $$ and he steadfastly refused. We developed them in my darkroom but sent them to a shop for printing as there were quite a few pics.

That sucks. Run around the living room to stay warm.

My father-in-law offered me a free ladder if I would go that route. :) My wife was upset as she thought that cheep of him. I dod point out that it was a really good ladder though. ;)

Did you still get the ladder? I think because we seriously pissed off both sides of the family by doing what we did, we were never given any gifts. Good job really, not sure what we would do with 3054834905834 toasters etc. :)

I have a 20x30 of this image on metallic paper...pretty much anyone that has seen it is suitably impressed.

As they should be

how long does a client usually take to decide on an order for photos? I've heard nothing back from that senior shoot I did...they've had the proof link since the beginning of processing.

I still haven't ordered any of my own wedding pictures. ALTHOUGH I plan on ordering tons of baby pictures once they get done ;) :D

We eloped, and still had a 'wedding' a few months after.
And we STILL have the toaster we got at the reception, and it still works. Blender too. :p

I can imagine that is stunning on metallic.

Jennifer's mom bought a 20x30 print of it...I had it on display at the show this past weekend....had lots of people asking how long it would be available for...this stinking economy cost me a few sales....

That's a fine shot. I know those little guys are hard to shoot. What was the focal length on that shot?

Thanks sir. That was a mighty fine flower you posted earlier too :)

Sorry to hear that Terri. I feel so odd purchasing a home when we know people that have lost theirs as well. I have a friend that is pretty worried too, which is odd because he and his wife are pretty well off, or at least they were.

The recession is hitting here too, I know a few families that are going to be strapped. It has really hit me in the pocket book too, basically adding a few extra years before I can retire. I only hope it is short lived. Oh well, life must go on. :)
