There are some seriously talented photogs there. I've just started birding a little but am no where near some of those guys. Here is a little hummer I took this fall.

Looks like an outstanding shot to me. Love the IQ and colors.

That's a fine shot. I know those little guys are hard to shoot. What was the focal length on that shot?...

It was taken with the 100-400 at 400.

Sorry to hear that Terri. I feel so odd purchasing a home when we know people that have lost theirs as well. I have a friend that is pretty worried too, which is odd because he and his wife are pretty well off, or at least they were.

It is a weird time, to be sure. In some ways it feels similar to the late 70's when our timber industry got the crap beat out of it.

The recession is hitting here too, I know a few families that are going to be strapped. It has really hit me in the pocket book too, basically adding a few extra years before I can retire. I only hope it is short lived. Oh well, life must go on.

I am fascinated with fuel prices. In Coquille (kind of a nowhere town on hwy 42 between Winston and Coos Bay) gas is 1.58

hmmm looking at urban and travel I can see why people were saying they thought they should be in different catagories

I imagine the GC folks have a heck of a time setting shares. There are some like you mention that could be split, Nature & Landscapes is one for sure. The more categories there are, the more submissions there would be though.

I paid $1.49 for gas on Monday...first time I've filled up for less than 20 bucks in years.

It really is scary to see people losing their houses. What is even scarier is to see how much less our dollar buys with each passing month. Even with the huge decline in gas prices...the other prices don't seem to be dropping at all. $5 for a bag of potato chips is insane!

Thanks Kody....and all things considered...this really is a good time to be buying a house if you can find the right place for you...I think you will be real happy.

I'm wondering the same thing Dan... Gas prices have dropped, yet food and others that have inflated "due to gas prices" are not coming back down.

yeah I feel pretty confident Plus the wife and I will both get raises before we even make our first house payment.

Also, I have a REAL hard time quickly telling the difference between you and Jim's avatars. lol They are too similar.

Big news story....Chuck E. Cheese is busted for selling alcohol to minors....3 separate locations nabbed in a sting operation last night....I've got to ask....Why? I know lots of people say kids drive them to drink...but is a child's party really the place to be getting plastered?

I had that happen last week. The pump stopped at 19 and change. I though for sure it wasn't full and kept trying to get a bit more in there.

Spending more than one afternoon with Chuck E. Cheese I can understand that completely. I'm glad that the kids now see it as well.
