Lisa, Calypso is beautiful! Wow.

And your Jimmy Buffet book is upside down. Fix that, would you please?

Just been re looking at some of my Maldives pictures, I think it is time to go back again.

this was at about 25 meters at the very end of a 60 minute dive.

That does it, I'm getting certified in diving and buying a underwater housing before I shoot anymore fish. :|

Becky do it NOW

we had a lot of the same fish in our Hawaii snorkeling shots. I'm gonna have to process those. The only one I don't recognize is that top big one (oh and the polka dotted one in photo 2).

It can be done. Just takes forever.

Sometimes it can take hours just to catch up on one of your MMQ's! ;)

Neil those underwater shots are awesome.

Afternoon everyone. You want to know what the best thing is about a 4 day holiday weekend. That's right, it's leaving early on the day before. Getting out at noon is like playing hooky from school.

Other notes of interest, I apparently have a fascination with rays and sea horses.

That is all, carry on.

Becky N wrote in post #6763992 (external link)
Even better are sea dragons. Unfortunately of a dozen or better shots, only one came out 1/2 way decent. Terri's underwater cousins were elusive, very gracefuly, but elusive.

Sea Dragons...

My favorite underwater critters to photograph are Lionfish.

They're pretty tasty, too...

Not as good as Neil's, but another Lionfish...

And for no particular reason, a couple of jellyfish...

Are you sure you want another expensive hobby?

That's one of the reasons I don't get back into diving. I just couldn't afford it. Even though I still have all my gear, I doubt I could use any of it these days. My regulator is outdated and I doubt parts are available for it any more and my wetsuit... Well, let's just say it seems to have shrunk.

And then there's the cost of underwater photography gear. I have a Nikonos IV that needs to be repaired, but it's film and then there's the UW strobes also...

I think I'll stick to shooting in aquariums. The occasional cost of admission is a whole lot less than diving again.
