Well I have tried many different batteries (all brand new) and it doesn't seem to matter. after looking at my meta data of my last couple of shoots my flash on fired 5-10% of the time. Has anyone else had troubles with their 430??

If the flash icon is not lighting up, there is an issue with the flash not communicating with the camera which could be caused by the hotshoe lifting off the camera body (due to loose screws), dirty hotshoe or flash contacts, etc. If you can get hold of another flash, that'll make it a little easier to isolate the problem to either the camera or the flash. ...Leo
