Last month I got the opportunity to photograph a local comedy night benefit for mood disorders, which featured some top comedians, most of them local, a fantastic band called Prairie Jewel, and some of the nicest people I've ever met.

The fundraiser was a huge success, as in return for letting me be the photographer, I put together what will be a dvd slideshow of the event.

If anybody has 15 minutes to watch and critique, it would be appreciated.

Approximately 300 images are included, taken with the 1D3 at ISO1600 to ISO3200.

This is my first video presentation of this kind, so be gentle. This is first draft so revision will be made before the final dvd is given out.

Vimeo quality is pretty good, but the dvd quality is way better. I wish I had a blu-ray burner.

Nice job, although the music isn't my style.

Thanks. Curious, what sort of music do you like? I just want to gauge as to whether or not this music would be good for general audiences. A friend of mine didn't like the music either, but he likes country (yuck imho), so I understood his p.o.v. The 2nd song is from the musical act at the show, not normally my style but I loved that song. And I really do like Moby.... moody, but uplifting which I found appropriate.

I know a lot of people make these videos with common pop songs, or high energy electronica type music, but I didn't find it fitting. I appreciate your critique, hawkeye60

I should have been more specific, it's only the first piece that I found objectionable. BTW what software did you use?

As it turns out, the video was a HUGE hit with the mood disorder group.
And the funny thing is, they all commented on how much they loved the music... with most saying the first song was their favourite (as it is mine). In fact, it made a few people cry.
I guess you have to suffer from this affliction to truly get the meaning and spirit of that song, which is exactly why I picked it.
