Hi all,

Captured these just south of Nobbys Beach in Newcastle, Australia [where the Pasha Bulker (external link) beached itself].

Some of the cropping may seem a bit strange in a few of them; it's the way they turned out. Capturing them in flight perfectly in frame is a bit more difficult than you think!

Used the 70-200mm f/4.0 L USM IS + Canon EF 1.4x II Extender.

C&C welcomed as usual :D

1. [look closer at this fella; I think he has a fishing line stuck in his wing :(]

I like #4 and the last #6 is cool the way it just hangs there. I hope to see some pelicans this winter in California. Trouble is I will be shooting with a fixed 300mm. I know I will have a hard time of it. Nice shots you got there!

I agree with what youre saying they will be hard to shoot while flying but 4 is my favourite.

I start my trip of Oz on Boxing day fly out on Xmas day we're at Newcastle about the 9th January I think, I will take a trip to Nobbys Beach. ;)

Keep some of that lovely weather for me ;)
