Sell your gear here. No reason to go to eBay with it unless it's broken.

As much as I try to sell here first, I got about $60 more for a Tamron lens on ebay than the best offer I got here. It pays to market to the uninformed, apparently.

Yeah it's sometimes worth while. But consider the eBay fees you had to pay. Sometimes those fees bring you back down to what you'd have gotten on here, and you have less risk here.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

I occasionally use ebay to sell music gear. A recent sale I made using Paypal, the money wasn't held. After seeing this thread I did some poking around to see if this could affect me in the future.

Megapixels and high ISO are a digital photographers heroin. Once you have a little, you just want more and more. It doesn't stop until your bank account is run dry.

It has happened to me recently for an item just below $400, but not for an item around $300 of the same category. As ridiculous as eBay and PayPal fees have become I'd rather sell a lens or body for $50-100 less here and give someone a deal than give eBay a large chunk of my sale.

This sucks...although I don't sell things often, when I do, it's hard enough to wait for the money to go into my account!

I had the same thing happen selling my 70-200 f4 for over $400.00. I have a 100% positive Ebay feeback with over 85 transactions dating back to 1999 and have been a PayPal member since 2000. I guess that isn't enough of a history for them. Bad move on their part.

Thank goodness the buyer left positive feedback right away. I'll be considering new options.
