I'm really new to strobes. Recently bought a 580EXII. Could I make that work with these, and is this a good deal? (local ad). I really want soft light that can be used with a seamless white background, and working up from there. From reading here & talking to my camera store guy I got the impression I would need multiple lights to accomplish that without ugly shadowing.

$150(neg)
Hi Key photography setup includes:
2 Versalite JTL 110 background lights and stands (almost $400 value)
These can be used as background lights or accent lighting. Used a handful of times. Comes with light stands.
2 pieces of 4x8 white wallboard on floor for white hi key effect.

with this:

$100
3 rolls 107"x12yd Savage seamless paper (coral, sand, off white- retails for $45 each)
1 wall/ceiling mount paper holder; triple background drive support system w/ chains (retails for $80)
Will also include several 6'x9' polycanvas backdrops for free- have green, red, pink, white, brown, and black. (retails for $20 each)

All in good condition; Paper has maybe 9ft cut off of each roll.

If it is, what would I need to buy to trigger the other lights, or will they work as slaves to the 580?

Okay, that sounds do-able, thanks for your reply.

Are those lights decent or capable of creating fill/background light for a white disappearing type background?
