Thanks for sharing this info. There's so much dire news (for good reason) about the environment, it's great to see some tangible actions that are being made to minimize ongoing impacts. Just seen seen your post Mike - Yes; I thought it might raise some interest, thanks, but just a drop in the ocean - as a cynic might say. Ray-P

Carrying capacity 500 Tons of fuel. Usually seen servicing the cargo and passenger ships. Distributor is a Motor Tanker sailing under the flag of the United Kingdom. Length 58 meters. Width is 9 meters. Distributor (very aptly named, by the way) has a very interesting aft deck with what appear to be deck chairs under a tattered-looking Union Jack. Deck chairs are not usually seen on a working boat. Curt

I've noticed some of the river boats on the Rhine also seemed very "homey" with small cars and children's toys on deck. I've wondered whether they were owned by a family, like some trucks are owned by one person here- a single truck operation.

You would have been glad to have seen that tatty looking union Jack if you were bogged down and under fire on the beaches of Dunkirk between May/June 1940. In fact, that is maybe were it came from Capn Jack wrote in post #19405350 ![]() I've noticed some of the river boats on the Rhine also seemed very "homey" with small cars and children's toys on deck. In the lower picture I was trying to convey an impression of the deck length. The main deck was immaculately tidy as to be expected. The vessel's draught is reported 2.4.metres.
