I didn't have a good nuff photo to turn in for the Canon Amateur Contest.
Hope to see some of the photographers from the Hale get selected

unfortunately, no. i've been focused on applying to jobs that i missed the deadline.

but

a girl i know jokingly said, "well if Canon considers a 'amateur photographer' one who's income from photography is less than %51 of their total income...and you're unemployed....doesn't that make you a 'professional photographer' according to Canon's description?"

i got a good laugh out of that one

Yep, I bought the "What The Duck" plush toy. At least it's camera related...sort of. My next real camera toy should be the EF 85mm f/1.8 USM.

I can't believe you guys didn't enter anything. Only a few judges will look at it and IF it gets selected as a honorable mention or a winner, then it will be displayed. People with point and shoots win this contest.

Chris - Nice toy, I am thinking of an 85mm too. I had it once, but sold it because it was my only lens and it is LONG on a crop sensor. Bought the Tamron 17-50 with the sale mounted on a 10D. The 85 was great shooting indoor basketball as it is very sharp. Now with a full frame and a crop camera, the 85 will be much more versatile for me. I'll be selling my 50mm to fund it.
