Mike - the 35mm looks like a good focal range for portrait, nice!

Here is a sunset taken at Pier 38 while waiting...

Norris - I was looking at that gorgeous sunset on my traffic drive home and did not have my camera with me. I have it now.

ninobrn99 - The east side is good, Waimanalo/Bellows beach is more secluded.

Nate - give us the time your here and a good day (no family obligation) so we can plan something.

Thanks Nate, here is the shot of the car after the sunset:

After the shoot, realized that the flash on the left was not positioned properly, the front rim should have been light up more... oh well, next time...

norris my critique for this photo is that the car needs some separation from the background. perhaps using a flash as rim lighting would be cool. separating the car from the dark sunset scene would've made this image even better. very cool though. i love the idea.

hey guys, dropping in briefly yet again. managed to get down to NYC.

went and saw ground zero.
QUOTED IMAGE

this was one the the last pieces of steel to be removed from ground zero. to think it once was part of the tallest buildings in the country. ground zero really left an impression on me.

Wow, seeing these photos brought back a lot of memories...I remember that morning and how I found out about the attacks. I was visiting a computer news site and the first news item was about the first plane hitting the first tower...I thought they were joking but turned on CNN and just couldn't believe what I was seeing. What a horrible morning that was.

Gee, shooting a dark colored car at night can be pretty tough, huh?

Thanks for the C&C, so to separate car from the background I would position a flash between the car and background? By moving the car farther from the border, would this help as well? Another Idea I had was to put a flash underneath the car lol...

Btw, Happy Thanksgiving everyone!!!

Duck shots!!! I have been there twice, but late afternoon, did not walk around the whole garden. I believe it closes at 4pm.

This could be also another place for strobist meet, plenty trees!!!

+1, buy more flashes... Nice scene, another approach would be to brighten the background some because the car is black for the separation.

EDIT: HAPPY THANKSGIVING Keep your family close today!
