Wow. Nice quick feedback.

Kyler, definitely need your advice sorry I never picked up that tripod, still have it? Hmm, I guess 12/4 would be the primary date we're setting for. Thanks Shon, Kent, and zeng. Sorry, don't know all your guys' names. Yes, please post this on HPF. I was going to do that if there was some reception here. I guess it would be good if you could post it since you'll have much more influence. If reception is good over there, I think it the main thread should be posted there.

The next thing I will do is contact a non-profit group. I am thinking about HUGS or a similar organization that deals with children, in the hopes that they can provide fund raising ideas, provide advertisement, and so that we have someone that we are giving to. Ultimately, their name(s) would headline this. So for the time being, let's toss some ideas around, and see if others can make it. I will also try to apply for the Pepsi grant. If you have any other organization, let me know. I'm choosing children because that's my field, but it could be any other one also.

It's only July, but it's nearly August, and to be smooth, I think things should be finalized by the end of October which is why I started this so early.

Thanks all.

I'll also send this to a few other photographers that are not a part of these forums. If you have a flickr account, that would be a great place to poll.

It will be available on July 30th for $99. Don't know any local stores but music supply stores may stock them when they come available. B&H Photo has it listed, I'll probably pick one up there or Amazon.

Looks like the h1 was delayed and will ship on August 20th. (external link)

On a side note, I just went through Kyler's Blog (external link), WOW! What a Pro!

Sounds like a great idea!

Any way to support the Kalihi-Palama clinic?

I'm in unless something changes in my schedule. May be able to recruit a friend also.

@john: really like the first one, on the second one, I keep looking at the light separation line that cuts through/ above their knees. What was your light setup?

Thanks

That was the light coming through a window, hence the line.

I could'a used it for a shoot last week.....AND------>

Also, anybody going to the Okinawa Festival at Kapiolani Park? My girlfriend's got a booth selling crafts so I'm going to be there for the duration. I'm bringing my gear and I sure wish I had the H1 "handy" right now.

My grandma dances at the festival every year and if I'm awake when my parents leave I sometimes tag along. I'll keep an eye out for you if I'm there.

Roger that...I will let you know what booth # I'll be messing around with my gear in. More than likely I'll be concentrating on the stage shows primarily catching facial expressions. I might bring a short ladder to get above the foot traffic in the area surrounding the stage.

Do you know if there are restrictions on photog's at this event?

I don't think there are any restrictions as people frequently run up to the stage and take photos. I don't know about a ladder though. They do put it on TV so there are TV cameras around that I think were up on scaffolding so I would watch out for those guys. There's usually a lot of space in between the bench seating and the stage for you to wander through.

This is what I got a couple of years ago from the bench area. I think I was using my 1D3 and 70-200mm.

I'm suppose to have my h1 in my UPS box right now. I'll be grabbing it after work.
