Thanks!
I haven't looked for the front cap yet. It's around here somewhere. I'll let you know when I find it.

They are the reason why the "barriers to entry" in the photography industry has been broken down. Anyone who can afford $500 - $1000 can pick up some quality photography equipment to start taking photos. Then again, I am certainly preaching to the choir here ![]() Also, TFP's usually are for the inexperienced model who either (1) doesn't have much modeling experience at all and is trying to build his/her portfolio or (2) is trying to make ends meet as a student, mother, father, etc. who doesn't have the $ to afford a professional photo session. If this dude is so amped up about TFP's and what not, maybe he should produce some quality images that are actually worth the money and charge professional models. I think I saw another post from him the other day along the same lines, so maybe a bad month. I can understand how much more difficult it must be for pros nowadays with such high end equipment available at much lower prices, but that's really just the evolution of technology. I guess he's offended by all these people who do it for fun or who are just working their way up. If it was just the rant then it wouldn't be so bad, but directly attacking people who post is just low class. ishida wrote in post #7423002 This TFP/TFCD experience was interesting. The girl was with her mom and she really had a difficult time getting relaxed for the photos. She did one outfit change and moving from place to place on the location took longer than I expected. Overall it was a very good experience for me, I learn so much everytime I do a shoot with other people. I got six good frames from the set that I will be giving to her. Using the 70-200 is very tricky for portraits especially if there's no IS. I always have to keep concious about the shutter speed especially in lower lighting situations. With the IS I could keep the ISO lower and let the shutter speed drop without having to worry about camera shake. Was that last pic at Manoa? Looks familar. What kind of method do you use for your skin smoothing? I like the colors and the DOF. I agree with Lincoln and Suzy that I think a little crop here and there would be good. I think #3 especially to get rid of the bright foliage on the upper left hand side and #4 to get rid of that little patch of stuff on the bottom left hand side. Looks good, though, I really need to get into this portrait stuff--keep saying I'm going to but never get off my ass and do it. stu46 wrote in post #7423737 As you can see, she's not too enthusiastic about it either...lol Ha...I was thinking when I saw the pic I was thinking she doesn't look too happy. Love the sharpness and bokeh on that lens. ishida wrote in post #7423738 I got my Sigma macro lens back from repairs. finally. and i decided to put it to use with my 5D.

An excellent shot Barry! branmuffindonburi wrote in post #7424644 I did pick up the tripod, Amazon has/d a great deal on them. I think I probably should've gotten the mountaineer instead as I would've liked to be able to NOT have the center column if I didn't want it (a little less weight to lug around, etc.). Thanks for the link, Lincoln .I was debating on the 1541T and your model because they were the same price (series 1 vs. series 2) I am now focusing on portability so the travel model won. Aloha,

I can't figure out if it's my TV, box or signal. If I go to HD stations, it should be full-screen, but stuff like ESPN has stuff cut off on the sides and if I adjust the picture the picture gets smaller, but it's still cut off on the sides. I've only had HD since December so is this a normal thing or is something screwed up?

I try to do most cropping when i take the photo and still allow padding on the edges for enlargements. it's definitely something for me to consider when PP-ing my photos. Barrett Photography

Thanks, David--worse case scenario is it's my TV. I'm hoping it's my signal or my box since Oceanic would fix that. The weird thing is that something I DVR'd last week Friday (HD) is cut off too. My PS3 looks fine, though. Really odd.
