Charlie - Nice shots. Always heard that Canada was a very beautiful place. I don't see a problem with posting pictures taken with non-canon equipment.

Barry - Nice set.

Barry: I saw your casting call on MM. If you haven't picked who your models are going to be, I suggest you take a look at Shaholly. She is one of the best models we have in Hawaii. She commented on your casting call.

ya, i got a 72" x 42" (something like that) for full body shots. It's a Photoflex and best used indoors or when there's hardly any wind. Depending on what we're doing for our next meetup maybe I'll bring them along.

this is the reflector you need when it is windy...

Have you tried the California Sunbounce? I've been seeing it in videos and they look pretty good. ahh, yes. I just looked at the cost  yikes!

Got a tax question for anyone that can answer.

How much startup expenses can you write off and does it matter if you have very little income from the business?

you really should get advice from a certified public accountant. there are too many different factors involved if you don't want to send up red flags. the notion of being able to write off as much as you want is not very good advice...unless you WANT to get audited.

i have the small one and it rocks! it doesn't bend or flex in the wind. panel stays flat so you don't get uneven lighting.

if it is windy, your assistant better be fairly strong or you better have sand bags or weights to hold the stand down cause it becomes a sail.

but yes, it is a little pricey. welcome to the bottomless money pit, aka: photography.

Love all three. I always like glassy water shots and the BW is really nice.

85mm f/1.8....FWO baby! cheeeeee :D

Sharp as a tack--love the colors and bokeh. The 85 is like my favorite lens that I just don't get to use enough.

That's a nice one. Were you there recently? That must be an awesome place to photograph.

Man, that is pricey--looks like it's really useful, though.
