Hi,

Just got my G10 today, this is my first G-series ( hurray ! ). I got it to go with me when i am not feeling like carrying my 40D around.

Ok, so there was the history :) And here starts the whining part.

The camera works fine when taking pictures, but i noticed an issue with the lcd display and video files when i point the camera towards a bright light source like bulb or the sun.

Here's a really really bad screenshot of a video, but you get the idea. Those huge blue lines aren't supposed to be there, but they are. So is this something that all G10's are doing, or is it just mine? Normally i would be quite sure that it's just my camera and it's broken, but as my 860 IS has this same issue, and the lines even appear on stills in that camera, i just don't know.
But i do know that my S3 IS did not get these lines under any circumstances.

Here's the crappy sample, any ideas? :

yes, this is a common issue with the G10.
its even covered in the manual i believe. the lines your refering to
apear in the LCD during photo and video modes, but will only apear
in the videos, not in the stills.

Thanks for clearing this out. I didn't find this in the manual, but it's over 300 pages so i might have missed few pages :)

Thanks!
