After my last time, which was my first time, I went to shoot another BBall game this Saturday, this time for experiencing the sheer pleasure of a pro body, the Nikon D2H, so what if it was way noisier than my XTi.

I had the Sigma 70-200 f/2.8 on it and the Tamron 28-75 f/2.8 for some shots.

I must say I've fallen in love with the pro body. Of course, most of the people I showed these images to found them lackluster, noisy and downright unimpressive.

I can attribute that partly to my lack of experience with sports shooting, but the camera is 5 years old! That's probably 15 in camera years.

I was pretty skeptical about this cam when I got my hands on it, and outright ridiculed it here.

But the superior grip, the solid build, the unbelievable list of features, the number of AF modes, the AF accuracy, the fps (8!) and even the noise have made me fall in love with this camera.

I know the photos below are far from 'decent' quality, but I can see how I could really get used to a pro body and maybe this one.

Let me know what you guys think.

I know they could use a bit of editing.

White balance looks off in all of them (green tinge). Some are out of focus and miss key action. Others are from behind the key player in the frame and you can't see facial expressions. The WB you can fix with editing, the other issues you will fix with experience.

It's hard to excuse the poor image quality of the older bodies at high ISO's when you could get better performance out of a 20D (or an XTi as you showed in your last thread).

I own an original 1D, but I'd never use it above iso 640... maybe 800-1250 in an pinch if I didn't have any other options, but that's what I keep the 30D around for. That D2H might be fun to shoot with, but I think what really counts is what the images look like when you're done. In that respect, your first set was better.

It is great to see some images from Clemson :). Maybe one day I will get back down there (graduated in 89).

I know. I'm in love with pro bodies too.. It's a sickness! I only got my 1D a few weeks ago and I'm already scheming to sell my 30D, 1D, and 550 so I can get a MarkII this spring!

GL with the rest of bball season. Keep posting those results and getting better!
