Help! I'm trying to prepare for a family picture on thanksgiving.
I've got a good SLR and Tripod but no Strobes! Any impromptu Ideas for cool lighting? Also, Any tips on location, positioning, or out-of-the-ordinary shots? ...or, maybe you could just post some links! :)

Um... what kind of photo are you trying to create?

Don't underestimate your on-board flash, if you have one. Fear kills good shots. Just go out there and shoot and play around with the buttons and see what you get. You've got to start somewhere. And if all else fails, up the ISO and go. Deal with the noise later.
