OH I LOVED my XTI but I really wanted 6fps and some better higher ISO performance, since I shoot alot of sports.
With the jury still out over the 50D I bought a 40D with the 28-135 lens.I bet the 60D is going to be killer though with all the 50D trashing going on.
On first impression the28-135 lens is not bad but not quite as good as my Tamron 28-75 so it will get sold. Any XTI owner who's thinking of a upgrade I say do it!!Here's some of my favorites with my XTI!! Great camera!!!!

went the same route but kept the XTi, gave it to my wife. i love the size & weight of the 40D but it gets tiring after a whole day of shooting. with the XTi, slap on the nifty-fifty & it feels like a big P&S. i love that little camera!

nice pics by the way...

First, congratulations regarding your new acquisition. I am sure you will be as happy with the 40D as I am with mine. The 40D is really head and shoulders above the xxxD series cameras.

The only thing that I missed when going from theXT to the 40D was the infra red tripper which allowed remote cordless release. That was one neat feature on the xxD series camera which the 40D doesn't have. However, I found a great substitute on eBay. This Chinese cordless release uses a receiver that plugs into the remove release cord socket of the 40D. It is really rather inexpensive and works great.

At first, I thought that your railroad picture was of a model train setup. It is a very neat image!

Thanks for the nice comments guys!!I'm already liking my 40D ALOT.
It definatly is a step up from the XTI in periferals and handling.I'd like to think that I'm graduating up from being a "rookie"

Hard to beat that 28-75. Especially considering the price.

Rookie.Congrats on the upgrade. What did you do with the XTi?
I still have my XTi as a back up or to use when I want to use two diffferent lenses without removing.
I love my 40D. The handling and feel is better in my hands
Nice pictures from the XTi.

I did the same thing. My wife loves the XTi and I'm very happy with the 40D. But now she wants my 17-55!:)
