don't you already have the canon 5D? what do you shoot? If it involves lots of sports and moving wildlife then maybe the 1D Mark II would be a better choice.

what do you mostly photograph? do you need more AF points? Do you need better build quality? If not that stick with the 5D it will serve you well for time to come.

I'd take the 1Ds MK II any day.

I would go with the 1DsMKII any day of the week if I were doing anything outside of studio work, but thats me. Without knowing what type of photography work you do, its hard to give a solid nudge one way or the other.

I dont recall anything that the 5d does better than the 1ds. So to me its obvious.

Other than the focus system and the sealed body, you mean.

The 5D seals better than the 1DsmkII? And focuses better? Not the ones I've used.

cheers, juice (Canon shooter, Elinchrom lighter, but pretty much agnostic on brands.)

As a landscape photographer...
I've just got my Canon 1Ds MII and I've tested the Canon 5D before. I'm very happy now with the Canon 1Ds MII. A great body. IQ is so good. I've even compared the Canon 5D with my Canon 1N HS with Velvia 50 and at the time it was not willing to pay 2600 euro for the 5D for this little bit more detail. Now I've payed 600 euro for the 1Ds MII and hell yes, this is the body.

Everyone is very occupied with tomorrow, next week, next month, next year.
Just today, we forget to be happy. Every day again, be happy, today, be happy...
The sunset was wonderfull...

5D MKII

But that's because it's a better camera for me.
