This isn't the best picture as it was my first time shooting hockey (or really any sporting event at that) but I think the timing/luck of the capture makes up for the not so spectacular quality!

Another $300 stick in the dumpster. It'd bring tears to any guy in my beer league, but this guy nods to the trainer and picks another off the rack.

Haha, yeah sticks are very expensive these days. Especially the 1 piece carbon fiber sticks that I've seen.

The Penguins were attacking the Blues' goal at the time and I was firing off shots left and right, trying to catch a good action photo. I saw a piece of stick flying through the air and scanned back through the shots, hoping I had got at least part of it. Lucky is the only real word to describe it, as no skill was involved :D

Nice shot!

It amazes me that these NHL'ers are still using these crappy carbon fibre sticks that keep breaking, potentially preventing them from scoring a key goal in a game. I have seen it time and time again.

How many pro photographers would keep using the same crappy camera if they continued to miss out on the perfect shot because the shutter kept breaking..LOL
