These are a few photos from my fleeting visit to Jordan in Sept 2008 that fail to do justice to this beautiful country. It is an amazing place that has so much more to offer than just Petra (which by the way is as magnificent as you'd imagine).

C&C are welcome.

I hope you like.

Mark

View of the Treasury, Petra's most famous tomb from the tail end of the Siq (taken at dawn so there was no-one else around, a rarity for Petra!)

The Monastery at Petra, quite a hike up to it, but stunning

The roman ruins at Jerash, amazingly well preserved

Wow fascinating place and nice shots too! Number 3 could be a bit "richer" I reckon so the colours are more like number 2?

Thanks Dave, now that you point it out it does look somewhat desaturated on my work monitor too! I'll have a play with the saturation when I get home tonight

Absolutely love #5. Shows a sense of scale that is telling. I feel like there should be a story that goes along with it.
