My gf's son got bored one day and downloaded Picasa and all of our pictures are now uploaded on picasa. There were a few 18+ pics that were also uploaded. My question is who can view these pics?Im worried that they are now floating around on the internet:oops:

If you're worried, surely you can remove the specific pictures from Picasa?

As I don't use Picasa myself, I'm not sure if there are various privacy levels you can set if you just want to hide them.

At the beginning of time there was absolutely nothing. And then it exploded! Terry Pratchett

those pictures are now removed, and actually the chance that somebody looked and downloaded the images is slight, but its good for peace of mind to know that someone couldnt have had access (if thats the case)

Do you mean they uploaded to the web Via Picasa?
Ive had picasa once and i dont think it ever did that exactly, kinda really wish i did now though. All it did for me was, if i uploaded images to a differnt program, once i opened picasa it would upload all of the new ones to that organizer. I didn't see any thing that stated it was uploading to the web...
I hated that softwear, but im almost tempted to download it agian to see exactly what you mean...

My question was does picasa automatically upload to the web? Because I think that ive heard of a few free pp sites/ programs that do that. The google site that I checked in regards to this question had varying answers.

you have to make an effort to upload them. it doesnt happen by itself. plus you need to have a google sign in account.

Picassa doesn't upload your pictures to its website unless you specifically instruct it to do so. You would also need a gmail account (or register an existing email address) to upload your pictures to the web. The only automatic thing that happens when you install Picassa is that it scans your hard drive for pictures, and then shows them in the program on your computer. Again, Picassa doesn't automatcally upload your pictures to the web unless you specifically instruct it to do so.

Hope this helps.

You have a choice to make each album public or unlisted. You make that choice when you upload the photos and can change it at any time afterwards. The public albums will be listed to anyone who knows your Gmail account name and visits your Picasaweb site. The private albums will not be listed to anyone except yourself when logged in to Google.

The private albums are protected by an "authkey" which is an arbitrary code that is unguessable. The authkey is part of the URL to the protected albums. For anyone who doesn't know the album name and the authkey for that album they will not be able to locate/view it. If you want to share a private album with people you have to give them the full URL of the album, including the authkey. If you change an unlisted album to public then the authkey disappears. If you make it unlisted once more the authkey is added again. I'm not sure if it is the same one or a new one.
