Larry,
I got your PM about this thread. Unfortunately, I can't respond to it via PM because my PM folder is now entirely full. But, to answer your question, no, I never did hear from the OP, Eric Tober, despite multiple attempts to contact him, asking how his trip went.

If you'd like to discuss any plans of your own for a similar trip, feel free to email me at tomreichner@yahoo.com (external link)
Email works better for me due to the extremely restrictive limitation on the number of PMs you can save on here.

"Your" and "you're" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"They're", "their", and "there" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one.
"Fare" and "fair" are different words with completely different meanings - please use the correct one. The proper expression is "moot point", NOT "mute point".

There are some great places in the Rocky Mountains. In Canada, Banff National Park is famous for its stunning mountains, but it is also crowed. Yellowstone is good. Glacier National Park is one of my favourite places to take photographs, and if you are in Vancouver there are a lot of potential for great images, with the city, sea, and mountains all within a 20 minute drive of each other.
