I decided to take my studio lighting and backdrop to the family Thanksgiving day at my sisters house. I thought I would only probably be doing some family shots for my brothers and sisters, forgetting that I had some really crazy (and very photogenic!) nieces. What ensued was the most fun I have ever had shooting around 170 pics! They are both endless and enthusiastic in their willingness to be photographed. The poses and ideas they came up with were both fun and creative. Here are just a few of the shots (un-edited) that they came up with basically on their own. I know the backdrop looks bad at the bottom but due to things being in the way it was impossible to drag it out all the way. Photoshopping will solve these issues and I will get to that at a later time. I just think there are some good poses here that I would like to share with my friends here, just in case you may want to use some of them at your next "fun" shoot. Enjoy!

There may be nits to pick here but all I really want to say is GOOD JOB of using your hobby to bring the family together.

It looks like you all had an absolute blast!!!

In the end, if you aren't having fun, why bother? :)

What a fun time you all must have had. Really like number 2, all are warm and make me smile. Thanks for sharing.

I would have loved to have a bit more room between them and the background. We were shooting in a VERY confined space and backing up put me into the wall behind me. I couldn't even pull the muslin out on the bottom as there was a bunk bed just out of the pic camera right. I thought I could probably save them in PP but things aren't coming out as good as I thought they would. I will get more chances to shoot these girls when I get the studio set up at the house in a room that has nothing in the way. thanks for the comments!
