SanDisk CF cases

I just picked up a few new Ultra IIs and was very dissapointed in the new plastic cases that SanDisk used for the cards. Has anyone else noticed?

The cards don't fit tightly in the new cases so they rattle a tiny bit and more importantly, they can fall out when you are opening the case. They also changed the way they open and close making it a lot harder to get them open with one hand or on the fly.

Maybe after using them I will change my mind, but they seem like the new cases are going to be a pain at weddings for us when we are usually changing them in a hurry and don't always have two hands to pop open a new case.

I got one of these babies - the Pelican 0940 (external link).

Great fit for CF cards, and solid build. Worth every penny, IMO.

Thanks. Do they make one that holds 10-12 cards?

Excellent products, those Think Tank items. I've got their Airport Security rolling back; very well made.

I agree -- the new cases that SanDisk is using are terrible! I noticed the same thing: they rattle, are hard to open, and the card falls out when you open them. SanDisk probably outsourced to someone new and that is why they changed.

The Pelican looks like a copy of the Gepe Extreme case which has been around a long time. It's a terrific product that is shock resistant, crushproof, dust proof and watertight.
