Maybe it should stop being just a Canon forum?

It never really was & there have never been restrictions on the equipment used. It's been a photography forum with a predominance of Canon users which just made it easier for people with similar equipment to learn.

I was a Canon user, then a Nikon user, then a Canon user, now a Nikon user.

I feel welcome here, though I do hesitate to post pics taken with my Nikon. It just seems that most people want to see what "Canon can do" when it comes to pics, not so much what the person can do regardless of the equipment used.

It would be nice to have a section for Nikon, mainly because the nikon forums just ain't that good. This forum is da best.

I'm a Nikon user, but I feel this forum offers a learning experience to everyone, not just canon users. Call it a canon forum, but I still learn to use my nikons from it.

I don't shoot canon, but I love this site anyway. :o

just an idea, why not have a sub category in the "lenses" and "bodies" section, so there are still the predominantly canon just there is the option for people who are using nikon stuff to talk about it.

I'm fine with people wanting to compare notes and learn from each other but the increasing number of new threads trumpeting Nikon over Canon simply as an attempt to pi$$ on people is getting old...

You've decided to switch brands...good for you. Go enjoy and I personally hope you find in Nikon what you feel is lacking in Canon.

But have the stones to not need to justify your decision by wanting to take a dump on others.

Welcome. These pages are dedicated to digital photography. My own galleries are here along with a forum for Canon digital camera owners.

After the Nikon section I suggest an Olympus section, and then a Fuju, and then a........

I'm all for making this a digital photography forum with equipment sections.

There are plenty of other forums that have nikon sections or are nikon orientated but this is a Canon forum and I like it that way. It has lasted quite a long time as a Canon forum, I don't see any reason to change.

Oh, most certainly, just can't really have a section labeled nikon in a canon forum :)

Of course not...it would have to be the Noink section.

no way!!!! this forum should not be tainted with the Nikon name. if those Nikon users want to talk about their gear, they can go some place else. this forum should only be a Canon forum!! :)

Sorry, but I think the title of the website says it all. It's a Canon forum, and regardless of what anybody says, the only reason I found the website, and the only reason I'm on it, is because it's a Canon forum. If you want to talk about Nikon, build a Nikon forum. Why would you want to flood this site with Nikon talk. Everyone here prefers to be here because it is specific to Canon and Canon users.

Sorry Nikon, but take a Hike On. Don't let the doorknob hit you where the good Lord split you.

despite all the above responses, it appears that the OWNER of this forum does not share the same close minded attitude as can be seen here:

here is the attitude that i was looking for!!! rock on brother!!

no disrespect but if you are only here because it is a Canon forum and not because of the people, you are really here for the wrong reasons. i am here because the people are the best. i am here because people here want to help and because people are talented. i don't care what they used to take the picture as long as the picture is nice.
