Most people don't like shooting above f18 because of the chromatic abberation and annoying arse dust spots. But I'm guessing you did this to get a more pronounced flare? Pretty sweet, and you pulled it off.

Pretty sweet, and you pulled it off. I do have a recommendation though. If you go back to shoot, offset the seaweed and sun away from center so one is not directly below the other, it might give an added effect to the sun flare as well. Like sun mid top right, seaweed, bottom left. Again, sweet shot. Thanks for the feedback man, I appreciate it. Yeah, that's the reason I shot at the aperture I did. It's something I like to do when shooting directly into the sun, to give that starburst effect. As for the composition, yeah, I see what you mean and the composition is a bit better in the other photo I posted in the 'California Sunset' thread. Unlikely that I can reshoot it any time soon as I'm back home in Scotland! Probably won't get back out there for a year or two now. gixxer wrote in post #6787071 Nice shot, really like the composition. Thank you! bonddabomb wrote in post #6789855 Nice sharp shot. Yeah, it was a nice sunset that evening. A fact confirmed by the multitudes of photographers that converged on the beach! daviespo wrote in post #6790234 love it nice shot the colours are great Thank you very much. You really nailed it. Looks great. Enjoy Oceanside. Thanks very much. It's a beautiful place, my wife is from there originally but now lives in Scotland with me. She wanted either this shot or this one blown up and framed for our bedroom wall.
