85L Mark I Focus Motor Quit- Fixable?

My 85L mark 1 quit focusing today. I remember someone saying that it had a different motor than the mk2 and was thus not repairable. Does anyone know the whole story on this?

That sucks, but best advice is to call canon and see what they say.

Canon will continue to service discontinued lenses for something like 7 years after they stop making them, you shouldn't have any problems.


I'm taking pictures of everything, so go ahead and take this place away from me.
