I'm going to New York City for a long weekend right before Christmas. I have time (negotiated with wifey) to visit a camera store on Friday. B&H and Adorama are the two big names that come to mind. Which should I visit?

I'm not shopping for anything in particular but want to look at accessories (bag, new strap, extra battery) and I want to get my hands on a 300 or 400mm L to see if a big gun is in my future.

B&H. I shop both, but B&H is Mecca, the Western Wall, Bethlehem, Mount Fuji, and Lhasa all rolled into one :{)#

Just remember - they close early Friday so the staff can get home before sundown.

What John stated! I love just browsing, but if you buy you will be amazed at how fast you can get out of that store1.

+1 B&H. If you are JUST browsing, leave your wallet at home. TRUST me.
