Let me first start by saying I'm still fairly new to photography (year and a half or so) and I usually don't do portrait style pictures, that being said, I took an opportunity to snap a few pictures of my dogs. :D

Here is some background info about the shots.

XTi, kit lens was used, no flash (I know, I've ordered one!) the lighting was all just normal lights in my room.

I'm open to any and all comments as I'm trying to learn as much as possible.

Get the poor guy a respectable bone! Ok, nice shots and nice angles getting down to their level; but you missed focus in #1 unless you wanted the nose in focus and not the eyes. I think you should stop down (increase fstop) to get more depth of focus so both the nose and eyes are focused. You might try focusing in the middle and see how it turns out.

Thanks for the info! For the first one I was really trying to get the detail in her bet wet nose, but I see what you mean about keeping the eyes in focus as well.

Thanks!! I just wish I would have gotten her whole paw in, composition is one of my weak points.
