I was sitting in an inflatable Bud Light chair tonight editing pictures from a shoot this evening. Set my laptop on the floor in front of me and used the sides of the chair to lift myself up. Somehow, my left foot caught the leg of the tripod that was standing next to me and forced it down on top of the laptop's LCD screen. Manfrotto owners beware! Apparently the tripods have it out for the laptops!

At least Santa is bring me a shiny new Mac

Oh schnappes - that's intense!

Glad the thing didn't clip you on the way down though - if it did that to your screen, imagine what it might've done to your face or body!

There should be a thread titled "When tripods attack!" or "The dark side of photography equipment" where people can post morbid pictures like this :D

I've done that too

I bought a new laptop, 17 " to replace the 15" one but it's still usable and workable.

Try this; attatch an external monitor into the monitor outlet or USB, and give at'er

It worked on mine.

You now have a desktop pc :)

Well, at least you have Schlafly too, so you can drink a local brew that really is beer.

Ouch, I've cracked my laptop screen before, so this brings up bad memories. Congrats on the new Mac though. Coincidentally, I also got a Mac to replace the broken laptop. Maybe Apple and Manfrotto are in cahoots.
