Anyone used this company before and had cause to complain?

I bought (online) a P&S camera for my nieces Birthday just over a week ago & hey ho, the flash unit doesn't work & therefore want to return it and get replacement.
Despite Emailing them 3 times now (They fail to reply) and too many attempted phone calls that they don't answer - I've now got in touch with the Office of Fair trading to see what my next move is to seek redress / refund etc.

Sadly for me I used my bank debit card rather than a credit card, otherwise I'd have been in touch with CCard company.

I find their customer relations absolutely dreadful, and would like to mention it here in case anyone else in the UK thinks about buying xmas presents etc from them.

Meanwhile, Samsung would be happy to repair it, but that's not the point is it, and my Niece still doesn't have a birthday present without me physically going out and buying a replacement that I shouldn't have to.

Update.
Advised by consumer watch to send them recorded delivery letter informing them that they're in breach of contract under the sale of goods act 1979.
I have done so & given them a reasonable period in which to respond - after that I am advised to get in touch with the consumer watch folks again for further action.
I've never come across such shoddy & appalling Customer relations in my life.

Thanks for the heads up.
I would not have bought from them anyway, as I have not heard of them, and certainly will not now.
PS: Unless as compensation they send a 5D Mk2 for your trouble! :-)

Now yer talking!!
I hadn't heard of them before either Ben, but bought simply because they were cheaper than a lot of the other online stores.
I wish I hadn't bothered, & paid over the odds if it meant she got a Birthday present that she could have used to capture the day.:mad:
