Hi,
Mac, and support both canon raw from D60 and 20D
Recomendations? or...
Specifically, Iview "Media Pro" or Extensis "Portfolio"
I am looking to archive my Raw images to DVD while retaining a thumbnail catalog or reference on my hard drive reducing the size of my stored image collection.
Of the 2 above I am looking to hear some user reviews on them. Which is better and will it meet my needs.
I bought a product that can't handle my needs and doesn't live up to it's own hype.

I tried Media Pro. It looks like a very good AM software. However, when I loaded all of my 22,000+ photos into it, it went kind of bonkers. It kept crashing when trying to update the catalog with all my photo entries (it does this in the background and over multiple sessions if necessary so that you can still use the program for other things). And it's supposed to be able to handle 128,000+ entries in a single catalog. Most of these photos were 10D RAW files. Because of the crashes, I gave up on it and uninstalled the software.

I was going to trial Portfolio 7 but didn't when I learned that it only supported 10D RAW and earlier files. No 1DmkII or 20D support yet (near as I can tell). Portfolio 7 seems to be geared more for an enterprise environment (small business office and up) than a single user home environment so it may be overkill.

Best thing to do is to download the trial version and see for yourself. If Media Pro would work OK, I'd lean towards that than Portfolio 7.
