Etienne, that's a beautiful shot. Love the soft colors over the water.[/QUOTE]

Thanks Todd. I still have a long way to go to reach your standard however. Your pictures are stunning.

How many of you use the video function for "around the house" and is it ok for that or is it just a pain editing the large files??

I don't use it at all. My HG21 camcorder is way more convenient to pick up and get recording fast. Mind you, AVCHD is such a pain that I've yet to actually do anything with the captures. The 5D2's video might be easier to deal with given the format.

Some more images from Italy. A village that was deserted, but now brought back to life again, seated on the Monti Sibillini.

Did you travel through the Abruzzi coast? My dad's parents came from somewhere around Montesilvano in the Pescara region.

Petra I love all of you photos.

If, one day, I could achieve the quality of Petra's *discards* I'd be a happy man.

One thing that really struck me about this camera (after a full ONE DAY of using it) is the fact that it handles high ISO photos VERY well. The following was taken at ISO 12800!!!

Not the most interesting shot, I realise, but the fact that it's this clean at ISO 12800 really leaves me breathless! I'm a happy 5DII owner, indeed...

Any photo's of nude or semi nude men is OK with me.... either here or in PM's *snorts* :D :D :D (but yeah, that shaved chest do worry me... but I might need to visit Malta to find out how hairy men are there.) :D

Did you travel through the Abruzzi coast? My dad's parents came from somewhere around Montesilvano in the Pescara region.

We kept ourselves mostly in Umbria and Tuscany, so the nearest coast was when we drove down the coast from Pisa and went to Piombino, to take a glance of the isle of Elba and Monte Christo (we never took the ferry over though).

Cool!! Now what would the chances be, for someone like me, to come and visit you at the zoo and get a guided tour?? You must have one of the coolest and fun jobs there is, and being able to photograph the animals so up close!

Very high Petra; if you can get your self over the North Sea to London some time soon, I shall ensure you have some photographic moments above and beyond what the public get to deal see behind the scenes, inside enclosures etc

Give me a shout
