Yup - you are right - I was aiming for a really contrasty look, but I was without modelling lights (strobes are good when portability isn't an issue), so it was difficult to judge if they were too dark, but I don't want to introduce noise by brightening the shadows too much. cr44 wrote in post #6800891 Number 2 is the winner! Yup - I need to look into getting an IR filter for the built in flash so that it doesn't cast a shadow any more - shame it can't be disabled - I thought it could, but now I don't think so.
