Recently I want to see the Sand Hill migration. They stop for a few weeks in central Indiana to recuperate their strength, rest a bit, and flirt with one another. During the day they are spread out feeding in the corn fields but as the sun goes down they congregate in one small field. It's quite a sight as 20,000 large birds all come in to party. Sort of hard to get a good shot as the lighting is poor and these guys are quite shy but it's worth taking a trip to see these majestic birds. Here are a couple.
