This lens might be new to someone, and wears a nickname Magic Drainpipe =)
There's photos of this lens in the Lens Sample Photo Archive,
But this thread is exclusivly for the test image of this lens.

I got this lens in exchange of $650CAD+ 50mm F/1.8,
the lens is in MINT condition, w/ only a few "small" dust inside, and a very slight 5mm scratch in the front element.

However, I found the zoom mechanism is slugglish and there's a little Back focus.
Sent it to Sun Camera at Keele and Steeles in Toronto.
At first, the repair guy refused to repair this lens since it is too old, after 10 minutes of begging in phone call, he accepted to repair.
He lubricated the gears/screws and recalibrate the focus for me, and now it is perfect :D

Thumb up to him!!! Since Canon Inc. won't touch this lens.
Repair cost: $160CAD w/ tax......(He spent more than 3 hours repairing this lens, so well worth it)
Adding the total cost of this lens $860 CAD, oh well, I can still sell this perfect lens at this price anyway.

The color is stunning. Rich, over-satuated, and slight soft, which I prefer it over the 70-200 F/4 that I've owned.
The AF is responsive and V. Fast, almost as fast as USM.
And is in Black :D

Too bad I have to study for the CFA, and I have yet taken it out anywhere except shooting jeans and books when I get bored...............
I've just tried some test shots, and here they are.

Photos are taken
- on tripod, Velbon Neo Carmagne G5300 II
- XSi, 12mp, JPEG, FINE
- ISO 100
- Customized Picture Style-Olympus Blue S6,C+1,S+1, CT+1 (should have used faithful, but forget abt it) , JPEG
- 2 seconds mirror lock up w/ remote shuttle
- AI Focus (I should have use manuel, but the focus point is very consistant, but this tests is already flawed because of this.......:/)
- Aperture Priority.
- 100% by JPEG corp in the same area.
- w/ B+W 72mm MRC filter (forget to take it off...............)

Ditto; looks pretty good, especially at the wide end.
