A self portrait of myself in an attempt to mimic the movie/comic 300.

I had just finished my own home-made beauty dish and this was the perfect opportunity. I know its a little grainy please forgive.

I think it looks awesome! Don't worry about the grainy look either--if you watch the movie closely, its actually really grainy too!

Hey guys! First post here.

I dig the effect, you see alot of this sort of thing around latley. Can I assume you used a lightroom/RAW preset? If so you did a good job but IMO I would add more of a bronze color to the image for a true "300" effect. Also maybe bump the red saturation up just a touch.

What you have here is more of a Andrzej Dragan style picture. Most of these high contrast, high clarity are pretty simalur with just a few tiny differances. The "300" just has more bronze in it.

If your interested I could post examples that I have worked on and you can see what look you like better?

Later,

Examples, good. Tips and tutorials even better. I agree with what you've posted about a more bronze look, but I sure like what you've done hear. very nice.

Hey guys,

I messed around a picture a bit and tried to get the look I was talking about.

Also, I just want to say that this is a real cool Dragan style image but if your going for the look showed in the 300 movie bump up the orange skin tones. But this image in itself is still very good.

feel free to edit my jpg.

I know what the halo is...see i run linux at home and have been experimenting with LightZone.

i believe the soft WOW effect creates the halo.

My DIY is being redone. I need to find a larger bowl as the 12 inch one i have is too deep and too narrow, leaving me with a rather large dark spot in the middle.

This is madness. No, this is Sparta!

I would say desat the orange a tiny bit and bump up the red a tiny and your good with the first of the redo's.

With all that being said your orig is much better for this style picture.

hope I could help
