where are you finding these for sale? I'm not sure I can afford (or hide it), but haven't even found any for sale? Any thoughts.

Have you checked out FM? - I usually see at least a couple there every week and some here as well.

FM doesn't like yahoo email:(
I own a 40D and am enjoying greatly. Looking at FF and this seems a great option?

Just start a gmail account. For some reason FM's site gave me troubles when I originally signed up. Their Buy/Sell forum sees way more traffic than POTN's, sometimes you've got to watch it constantly...almost obsessively in order to be first in line.

I picked mine up from the FedEx office over lunch.

What a beast!! About 5k on the shutter and looks brand new. Thanks iqbal624.

Right now I feel like I'm not worthy......but I'm gonna have fun trying.

WTG!

Looking at your lens collection, we should be expecting the inaugural duck shot in short order! :D

Cheers!

I posted that I was looking to buy a 1DsM2 on the FM Buy & Sell forum and in the first day I had five people respond. The responses ranges from about $2,200 to $2,600 depending on clicks and body shape.

Might want to check out KEH also. They offer warranties and are a first class outfit. Their prices have dropped recently.

I know this might sound risky, and it probably is for a majority of camera buyers, but Fleabay usually has the best deals. But you have to be very patient, experienced and careful to not get scammed there. I did my research, and ended up with a 1DsII with 10K actuations and all original boxes, etc. from a landscape stock pro for about $2,200. I've seen ones in decent shape go for just under $2,000. But it is easier on here or FM to get well taken care of equipment.

In any case, once you have one, you'll understand why this was an $8,000 camera just four short years ago.

I just picked up my copy a last week and my first impressions were I wow. Having not owned a full frame but come come through a run of 1d cameras, the extra resolving power was really noticeable on landscapes. I also found that the 1ds was able to record more pleasing skin tones than my 1dmk3. Its true that the camera really pushes L glass and flaws are more apparent. One of my first processed shots from my new toy - notice the ducks in the distance so a semi duck shot :D

I picked mine up for 1450 with a dinks but came with a L bracket which is most useful.

Various gear
...and most importantly my left eye!

for landscapes and portraits i always use 1Ds series [or full frame] over any other bodies [1.3x or 1.6x crop bodies].

I'll settle for a cat or dog portrait.

Very nice shot, Futura. And a fantastic deal on the camera!
